
I haven't any photos to post of the cookies that Ben and I made because Ben ate them all. He is so piggy! And agile, nimble, dexterous and all those other things he needs to be in order to get the cookies out of the tin on the top shelf. But it was Ben - that's my story and I'm sticking to it...
But these are the best choc chip cookies (and if you remove them from the oven before they brown they will be chewy when they cool):
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Heat oven to 375ºF.
- Mix sugars, butter and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
My Ben must have grown a bunch recently. Top shelf, eh.
